2008 Workshop/Short Course on the Development and Study of Advanced Sensors and Sensor Materials for Undergraduate Students and College Faculty
This Workshop/Short Course is being offered to undergraduate students and college faculty in science and engineering.  Nobel Laureate Riccardo Giacconi Has Given Tenth Annual Memorial Lecture
The Tenth Putcha Venkateswarlu Annual Memorial Lecture, was given by Nobel Riccardo Giacconi, Associated Universities, Inc., USA, Friday, on October 19. The title of the talk was "X-Ray Astronomy." Dr. Giacconi was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 2002 for "pioneering contributions to astrophysics, which led to the discovery of cosmic x-ray sources." He shared the Nobel Prize with Dr. Raymond Davis, Jr. from the University of Pennsylvania, USA, and Masatoshi Koshiba from the University of Tokyo, Japan.
